2 Timothy 4:3 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;” Verses 1 through 7 is what Paul is saying while he is on his deathbed. He knows that there are different times, changes, and societies in life, but he still warns us about times when doctrine will not be heeded. In 2 Timothy 4:3-4 he warns about churches becoming emotional and a show. In 2 Timothy 3:2 he warns about when people love themselves more than others and people who are covetous, proud, boastful, disobedient to parents, unthankful, and without natural affection. In 2 Timothy 3:10-15 he encourages us to continue serving the Lord. 2 Timothy 4:6-7 tells us that he finished his race and what he set out to do. Since he finished, we should be encouraged that we can too.
